Vintage china cabinet reveal!

As promise my finished vintage china cabinet ......it sure was a lot of work, but so worth it! this was my first time working with Annie Sloan chalk paint and I must say it's great......I'm loving the way she turned out.....first I gave it a couple of coats of Annie Sloan chalk paint....boy was she thirsty.....lol....then I wax her with Annie Sloan clean wax.....after that I glaze her with an antique glaze to tone done the bright white......I'm so happy at how it turn out.....

I spray painted the chicken wire in gold to clean it up a bit it was looking a little dingy....now she shines......

touches of gold for added elegance......

Hung a pretty tassel to dress her up.....

I painted the trim in gold to marry her to my dining room table......

Now she matches my dining room table beautifully.....hummmm I'm thinking to paint or not to paint my dining room chairs.....any thoughts on that friends?......

My goodwill find!

Ok so for about a year now I have been on the hunt for a pretty frenchy china cabinet, the ones I found were always too much and I really didn't want to spend that money.....sooooo after my birthday June 21....in case your curious.....lol....any who like I was saying after my birthday I kindly ask the hubster to take me to a near by goodwill store to see if they had any french china cabinets! And to my delight there she was my french china cabinet just waiting for little old me, and she was reduced from $200.00 to $99.99...and score....teeheehee....this will be my next big painting project..I would appreciate any advice you may have on how to paint this beauty......

Sorry for the poor pic's, I really need a good camera!

Look at the pretty details, boy she is a large beauty...lol...

I try to stage her a little to show her off to you....

The hubster and myself are planning on removing the pink rugs in the living and dining room, as I have pretty hard wood floors ;-) can't wait but that will have to wait! Ohhh well Rome wasn't built in a day! Haha....

My first painting project!

Hi sweeties, a couple of weeks ago a good friend was moving and she wanted to downsize on what to take to her new home, she had beautiful vintage french furniture.....well being the good friend that I am I decided to help her get rid of some items....heehee....the pretty side table you see below I just had to scoop up.....:) she told me if I didn't want it she was going to put her in the trash....can you imagine...well I couldn't let that happen so home she came with me.......happy dance here......it was a dark wood color very pretty but I love light wood, so after a couple of days I just could not live with the dark brown anymore and decided to paint her.....I really am happy with how she turned out....

Now you can see her pretty details....sorry no before pic's ;( me

I gave her a couple of coats of white paint then gave her an antique glaze....

I highlighted her details with gold paint......

Now with the gold her details just pop......

Such yummy details....

Love how pretty she turned out!!

I really am happy with the way my pretty french side table turned out....wow what a little paint can do.....it sure was fun refinishing this sweet table, I think I just might have a new addiction....lol......I hope you like her as much as I do?

Have a great day friends~

Paint or not to paint?

While many of you lovely ladies have braved painting your own furniture, I'm not so brave...yeap I'm a chicken I admit it...the dining room table you see below was a gift ;-) since Receiving her I have been debating about giving her a face lift with white paint! she has a couple of scratches and water stains and a small chip, all in all she is in great shape...speaking of shape I love her french curves.

At first I thought about doing the work myself and just paint her, but I'm to scare to dive in :-( .....so she will be going in for her face lift ;-) I have chosen a white paint with an antiquing glaze and gold highlights......the four french chair you see in the pic, I'm not sure about yet and if I do decide to paint them I could do that myself as I have painted chairs in the past and had great results.....any who friends she will be at the furniture doctor getting her well deserved face lift as of next week and will be there for three weeks! Wow that's a long time :-( but as long as she comes out beautiful I won't mind ;-)

These deep scratches are on one end of my dining room table :-( they are so ugly! I just can't stand to look at them any longer, due to these scratches I have decided to have her repaired professionally ;-)

I'm really excited to see how she will turn out! Keep your toes cross my friends! Till next time ;-)

Speak no Evil!

Sorry for the dark and blurry pic, but I wanted to introduce my sweet little Bella, she has been with me since she was three months old, the breeder that had her could no sell her :-( no body wanted her....so she ask me if I wanted her and I said yessssss......

She did not come to me this pretty she had red yeast all over her eyes and face! But with some love and care she really turned out to be a beauty....
On the day her breeder delivered her to me she looked so sad and my dear mom said oh my what have you gotten yourself into now...I looked at my mommy and said you just wait and see she will be a beauty and for me she is a beauty....the moment her breeder put her on the floor and I sat down beside her so she can get a feel for me she jumped into my lap and licked my face as to say please keep me and love me for me, see me for my true beauty....and that was it....lol.....it was forever love for the both of us, she and my Mia are attached I'm blessed with the two of my girlies my Mia mama and my Baby Bella ;-)
Bella says speak no evil in this pic...lol....

Wishing you all a great week~
